Content grown-ups can trust

My daughter is five and has never sat still for anything — but she asks for "one more Piñatita" every night. What sold me is that after the resilience episode she told me, "Mami, I fell but I got back up." That's the whole reason I let her watch.

I teach a dual-language kindergarten and finding material that respects both languages equally is genuinely hard. Piñatita switches between English and Spanish without treating Spanish as the afterthought. My students repeat the vocabulary without being asked.

The six-minute episodes are the detail parents notice. There's a natural stopping point, so screen time ends without a meltdown. That alone made our evenings calmer.

We hosted the live show for our summer reading kickoff and had 240 kids and grown-ups in the room. The performers kept it bilingual the entire time and the circulation of the book jumped the following week.

As a school counselor I look for language kids can actually use. "Getting back up" has become a phrase our first graders say to each other on the playground. It came straight from these stories.

I grew up with piñatas at every birthday, and my kids are growing up far from that. Seeing our culture on screen — not as a costume, but as the heart of the story — matters more to me than I expected.
